So the randomest thing just happened to me in BGEE.

I decided to reinstall the game and "start again" with my good aligned sorc; and I was heading south after picking up Khalid/Jaheira in the cross roads area between the friendly arm, gorions rest, and beregost. And I had to minimise the game in order to check something online (unrelated to the game).

And I heard the game in the back ground start to make noise like the game was running a movie or dream sequence. And when I went back to the game and found the "Your Character Is Dead" screen.

I was like "WTF?"

My party wasn't being attacked, and on closer inspection there was no "dead body" where my character ought to have been. Instead in my characters place was what appeared to be a Werewolf. A hostile werewolf.

I literally have no idea what the heck happened. I couldn't reproduce it on reload so I am at a loss.

Anyone come across this before?

Not sure if its a bug in the game, or perhaps a problem caused by modding...

I saw this once before on the forum. If I remember correctly, it was some glitch with code from a werewolf later in the game getting moved into a different character's information. But I've only heard of it once so far, so it must be a relatively rare bug.

So it is one of the mods. I think you can turn weather off to fix it.

Or, you just got bitten by a wolf when you were young and the curse finally took effect. The Child of Murder transformed a deadly killing machine. Sounds about right.
