Ambient Soundtrack?

Hi all!

This is a long shot but a friend said today that if I'd thought of it then someone else would've too ---

Is there any chance anyone's heard of an ambient soundtrack for BG2? Like, music and ambient sounds from the game stitched together to listen to outside of the game, a bit like the Los Angeles November 2019 soundtrack for Blade Runner, which makes you feel like you're walking down Animoid Row? An immersive soundscape.

I would love to have such a soundtrack so much. I always found the ambient noise of the docks district to be super relaxing, the cries of gulls, chains clanking, bells ringing, cries of I HAVE BEAUTIFUL HAIR, SIR! Lovely.

I'd like to make such a soundtrack myself but would have to learn how to do it from scratch, sigh.

Anyway I can guess the answer but I had to ask! Thanks for your time.

J

None that I am aware of. You can always use Near Infinity to listen to the sounds.

Well, I know that "Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga", which was the final version of the original BG1, came with a soundtrack which had the music. It didn't have the ambient sounds though.

SaintEx, the ambient sounds of BG II can be heard on youtube. This one is for the Docks, but there are links to the sounds of many other areas.

Somehow on topic, but what do people in the background say? The ones that shout. Sometimes it really sounds like random gibberish and not English at all.

That's because these days Amn is overrun by immigrants. You can't even visit the docks of our capital anymore without having to hear their nonsense gibberish everywhere. And who's paying for them running around in shiny new +1 gear? You and me, I tell you, hard working, honest Amnians.

@calmar there are some YouTube to mp3 converters around, but I doubt they are legal considering that could lead to a whole new way of getting free music. I think it shouldn't matter though for something like this or a parody of a song that isn't available for download.

    They are taking our jobs!

EDIT : Actually, after paying attention to what they say, I managed to understand plenty of them. I like these little details.
