Where can I find this NPC & how do I make him mine?

    As for making him yours...roses?

    Friendly Arm inn, he won't join yet, but you come across him later when moving between areas.

    You can find Dorn in the FAI, next to the entrance, really. Talk to him and a journal entry will be created, but Dorn won't join you.

    Then continue your adventure. An event will happen before entering the Nashkel mines map (you'll think it's an ambush with bandits) and Dorn will appear. After a fight he'll offer to join you.

    He's yours after it:-) Although the main part of his story and romance will be seen in BG2:EE - a resolution to your second question included (wink;)).
