Swashbuckler with backstab

Swashbuckler is only Thief specialization what is little focus on fight, but without backstabing ability is useless. Dual clas Warrior/Thief, have roughly same battle stats ( little less damage and armor but more attack per round and fighter high lvl special abilites ) but dont have any penalty. ( And Kensai/Thief... I dont say anything )

So please give Swashbuckler backstabing ability and you can remove his setting trap abily, ability use range weapons, using pickpocket or something like this.

Swashbuckler really need it or he doest have ani point

Eh, Swashbucklers do have a point.

They're the best melee Thief due to their increased AC and better THAC0/damage and weapon specialization, that's why their disadvantage is the loss of Backstab. A Fighter/Thief has better melee, but that's natural because they are part Fighter after all.

Swashbuckler is for dual-classing to Fighter. It's another approach at what Kensai/Thief tries to do. You can also dual to Mage for a Meteor/Energy Blade specialist, actually really fun.

Fighter/Thief is not only better melee then Swashbuckler but also better Thief and that why is bad balanced.

Specialization what is good only on dual-classing is wrong.
What if i dont want play human race ?

Swashbucklers are fine. At endgame they can have better AC/THAC0 than an equivalent level fighter. They also get full thieving points, so they are much better at thieving than a fighter/thief with the same XP. They're also full of character and roleplaying potential.

Let's face it, any single-class thief or thief kit is a bit underpowered (apart from trap abuse) in straight-up combat but they make up for it by levelling fast and being versatile. Swashbucklers can stand in the first line of melee combat due to AC & THACO bonuses, but meet all your lockpicking/trap disarming & setting/scouting needs. What more could you ask for?

Also, backstab doesn't fit the in-your-face, swaggering nature of the class.

Specialization that's only good for dual classing is still better than half the specializations in this game. Swashbuckler is not the first thing you would need to look at if you were to rebalance the kits.

This is something you can easily edit yourself if you want to play a swashbuckler with a backstab multiplier.
