BGEE romance into BG2EE question

so I just had the final talk with neera again in this game and realized I should get off at this moment before I mess some things up. I was wondering if the romance status in BGEE would matter at all in BG2EE. When I ignored the flirt and talked like friends I got the variable -1 and when I did so back it went 3, and now I am beginning to wonder if this will matter going forward. I am not yet sure who my charname will be with, and I've only finished the series once with Jaheira so everybody is still new. I was thinking of playing the second game through until, like in the original, you must make a choice, having all the characters in my party until then. I know in the original only charname carries over, but I gotta double check on the enhanced edition characters.

Will the new NPCs' romances from BG1EE carry through and affect their romances in BG2EE?
The short answer is no; the engine doesn't support importing variables, which is what would be needed for those flirtations to carry over.

I would assume that once you meet Neera again, there would be some conversation options that would indicate a past relationship of some sort.

"Neera?! How are you my sweet? I've missed your company very much!"

"Neera? ... I thought you were dead!"
