Seeing the other thread being so popular, let's have one for real life. If possible, list the method used, and first-level stats, D&D edition, etc...
I have a Human Ranger (archer type), with the following.
STR 16
DEX 19
CON 15
INT 14
WIS 15
CHA 14
For a total of 93. Method was roll 4d6, if you roll one or more 1, you can reroll one of the 1s. Pick the best 3 dice. Rolling four 6s = 19. At level 9 he has CON 16 and DEX 20. 3.5 edition.
I also currently have a Dwarven rogue, who at level one, had the following
Race: Dwarf
STR 15
DEX 18
CON 15
INT 17
WIS 13
CHA 6.
For a total of 84. At level 10, he now has 16 STR and 16 CON. Same rules as above, again in 3.5.

It was a retroclone of Basic/Expert Dungeons & Dragons, called Labyrinth Lord.
We were required to roll our scores, and take them as they were. I believe the amount to roll was 3d6, about...five to ten times?, and then pick the best one.
Neutral (Chaotic) Human Cleric
Strength 16
Intelligence 13
Wisdom 18
Dexterity 08
Constitution 12
Charisma 09
She was a batshit insane priestess of a Solar Goddess, and I loved the hell out of her. < 3 Technically, the very first set that she got in the game prior, with a 15 Strength and Intelligence, and an 11 Constitution, were "better", but I played her like a Paladin from WarCraft III, down to the hammer. She just had a more "Scarlet Crusade" flavour than "Silver Hand". She taught me to love a character, no matter the rolls.
76 Points, both ways.
Second
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition. Roll scores and allocate as desired if human; otherwise, take as rolled. I think it was 4d6 drop lowest...not recalling.
Neutral Good Half-Sun Elven Cleric of Tymora/Thief
Strength 16
Intelligence 17
Wisdom 15
Dexterity 17
Constitution 10
Charisma 15
This game...did not last. At least the GM was cool enough to let us use Unearthed Arcana combinations in a 2nd Edition game. Probably because 2E was supposed to have UA stuff in it.
90 Points.
Third
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd Edition. Roll scores and allocate as desired if human; otherwise, take as rolled. I think it was 4d6 drop lowest...not recalling.
Neutral Good Human Dweomerkeeper (Specialty Priestess of Mystra)
Strength 13
Intelligence 15
Wisdom 17
Dexterity 13
Constitution 15
Charisma 11
This game also did not last.
Str: 12
Dex: 16
Con: 18
Int: 16
Wis: 15
Cha: 16
She was pretty awesome and I played her for years in my pnp campaign.
