@Goddard, depending on what version of Windows you are using;
On XP, it will be C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\ On Vista and onward, it will be C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\
Substituting drive 'C' for whatever your drive happens to be. (In my case, that would be 'F')
By default, both the 'Documents' and 'My Documents' will appear on the Start menu; they also appear in the navigation pane to the left (this is especially significant to Windows 8 since they removed the traditional Start menu).
Below are two screenshots of what your Documents folder should look like.
Can you confirm that the Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition directory exists in the Documents folder? If so, then 'save' should be in that.
