Who was your PC leader through the Baldur's Gate series?

Mine was a human male Cleric (of Oghma, I presumed) called Tethoril (which I presumed Gorion named in honour of his friend, Tethtoril). He weilded a Morning Star + 1 and a Medium Shield + 1 against Sarevok, the Flail of Ages + 3 (and a shield which I don't recall) against Irenicus and then the Runehammer + 5, Erienne Sling + 5 with Bullets + 4 and the Darksteel Shield + 4 against Amelysan.

For Tales of the Sword Coast, I used the pre-made party with Abdel but chose instead to have Branwen as the leader of my group. She was equipped with the Staff of Striking against Aec'Letec.

Who lead your groups along the Sword Coast? :)

My PC is a fighter/Mage/thief. An evil elf! I wield the flame tongue + 1, and wore the eleven chain. He's based on my PnP character I played back in high school. :)
  • Nice! That's a good mixed class :) did you choose an evil alignment because of his father?

The favorite PC I've created was a True Neutral thief dualed to a fighter. I dual-wielded long swords and did 4x backstab damage to everyone.

I always play as a naive female paladin called Hope. She is a sword and board kind of girl so she generally wields Varscona. She is naive because it allows me to have people like Xzar, Montaron and Edwin in the party (she sees good in everyone - even when all the evidence suggests it is not there). She always leads the party - with the exception of when talking to Shoal the Nereid - and she is devoted to Imoen, whom she always attempts to protect.

I have three main characters I always play through at least once every few years.

A goody-two boots paladin Sir Joshua. An evil fighter Koveras. And an evil necromancer Xerxes. none are very original but they were my first three characters when BG first came out. Since then I've tried every other class and some custom ones, but I always go back to those three.

Also, when in battle I put Xerxes in the back, but my PC always leads the group.

I am a recovering Paladin addict. I once believed that a structured society could be the ultimate good. And then I discovered the awesomeness that is Neutral Good. I've been a Paladin-Sober-Ranger for a month now! Just sayin, everyone needs to have a good-evil-slaying-rampage-rebel-against-injust-law moment every once in awhile.

Riyah had an alignment change to evil based on PnP campaign. It was a situation when good was better than evil. Sometimes doing the right thing will just get you killed and not help anyone. My elf was very racist, arrogant, jaded, and bitter. By far my the most memorable character I ever played. Riyah was role played much like a ninja. He was mysterious and often dealt with enemies by polymorphing them into fish and keeping them as mementos. Riyah preferred daggers to all other weapons. I thought the daggers added a very sinister edge to him and lots of quick attacks from dual wielding and dagger throwing. LuLz.

Serendis: A cold, calculating and highly manipulative elf sorcerer. Evil and self-serving, he won't hesitate to eliminate would-be "benefactors" once they're of no further use to him (see: Shandalar, Shoal, Oublek) but he also has very strong anti-slavery sentiments. Gets along great with drow, half-orcs and Red Wizards. Typically equips the Robe of the Evil Archmagi and a Quarterstaff +3 in BG1, and the Robe of Vecna and Staff of the Magi in BG2.

Teresa: Human Inquisitor - very much the classic blonde heroine in plate armor, smiting evil and helping the helpless. Travels with an all-female adventuring party. I designed her specifically to be a one-up over Keldorn: she has better Strength, Dexterity and Charisma thanks to lucky rolls and tome bonuses, and she'll eventually wield Carsomyr.

That's interesting considering that Bhaal's favoured weapon is the dagger! :D

    The Blob, mighty Pudding™.
Never was a Druish Oozemaster more feared than this Neutral Evil (but still disgustingly delicious) abomination. Fun fact: he never wore armor, or anything at all for that matter.

It's a strange question, since majority of ushave beaten the game multiple of times. Although, I have played one CHARNAME many times, slightly changing the concept of the character.

She was human female named Areina, but as for her class... It's always mage, thought not always without specialization. Some time she was Invoker, some time Illusionist, some time specializing in cognitions...

    Some characteristic:
Brunette, rather pretty/charismatic and inteligent, sometimes described as a clumsy, sometimes as agile. Sometimes as wise, but almost always at least being rather healthy.

Sometimes she favors practical weapons (daggers, darts, slings), sometimes she just feels some love for classics (staves)

Rather polite and careful. Caring towards her friends. Tries to avoid conflict, if possible.

After next patch I plan to play her again and I can't decide what to do with her next.

My PC leader is my human male fighter named Ralis, who is proficient in handling bastard swords and proficient on an average level on handling longbows. He battles using two bastard swords in each hand, using Kondar +1, the enchanted bastard sword that does +3 damage to shapeshifters as his main hand weapon, and Albruin, another enchanted bastard sword that allows him to see invisible enemies once a day and protect him from being poisoned as his offhand weapon.

He wears ankheg plate mail armor, ring of princes +1, and helm of peace

When I first played the series as a teen, a thief. I never finished BG1 by myself, but when I played BG2 / TOB with my friend, I played as a Swashbuckler. It was awesome.

BG:EE, I played as a pure fighter, bows and two handed swords RAAAAARR
Part of me still wants to roll through as a Barbarian, but I'm working on a playthrough right now as a Berserker that I'm going to dual to Druid. Scimitars & Sword & Shield (duh), though I'm going to try to get some pips in club, too.

    I always play humans!

My first BG1 character years and years ago, was a Paladin named... MERLANCE who used bastard swords. He had an 18/00 strength and 17 charisma. His dex and con were really bad though, but I went with the 18/00 strength because, ya know... 18/00! I imported him to BG2 where he became a Crusader and went to dual bastard swords, Jhor the Bleeder and Blade of Searing. I can't recall if I imported that character into ToB but I definitely had a Crusader using dual Bastard Swords in ToB, Foebane and Purifier.

whoever wields the biggest weapon, that is who gets to lead, so usually its my charname, for when I play single player games I 4 times out of 5 yield big weapons, but, if it isn't my guy, it will either be; minsc, dorn or sarevok

me too! took mine through the whole saga (except ToSC, i didn't own it at the time). my guy started off as chaotic good but then became chaotic evil when he chose the evil path at the end of bg2 (i don't remember how or why) =/ i made him a ladies man and his whole party was female (all the ladies except mazzy. so close) it got really interesting.

Gnome F / I Chaotic Good..Doesn't like Tallies too much though.
Something about having a crick in his neck from looking up all day. I mean you guys can come down to our level once in a while when you want to talk to us.
And don't give me that " But my armor cut's off the circulation to my junk if I bend down that way. " excuse.
    We are vertically challenged..not mentally.
    Total butt kicker.
Insane saving throws. BG 1 all STs but Death (+3) were below zero..spells was - 3...wands -6 etc. With all the magical junk in BG 2 those should go just as low or even lower. ( I know ,I know some spells have no saving throw , but the one's that do....save...save...save...)
Crazy low AC ( But I just found out that low AC doesn't matter in BG 2 )
Lot's of spells. No real loss on opposition spells
Can go almost toe to toe as good as any fighter. ( Darn near close ) Sword and Shield when not nuking.
Can use almost everything in the game.
Under perm Blur ( The Claw...my precious )

Will do a party run in BG 2 EE and then a solo. ( Hard )

My favourite? My Lawful Evil, Human Assassin. Dagger wielding, back stab crazy.

I have played through the game as many types of characters but this one I felt really merged with the story - for me anyhow.

My most recent favourite character however, is my wise crackin' Human True Neutral Bard. I also feel that this character merges with the story exceptionally. Plus I get to choose all the funny conversation options.

    I have two favourites.
A Thief...kitted or not. Mostly Neutral or Lawful Evil. Single or Dual-classed with Fighter...I played him in many ways but it was always a resourceful lad.
The second is a Lawful Evil monk. First in BG2, but then also in BGTutu and BGEE. A powerful dude with anger issues.

My first BG PC was a half-elven Fighter/Mage named Elmina (Wild Arms ref, for those who get it). She was Chaotic Good, because at age 15 that's what all the cool people were. Of course, I had no idea how to use magic well, so she wore armour all the time and was basically a gimped Fighter. She favoured dual longswords in BG2, I think ending with Angurvadal and the Equalizer. Because I never used Anomen it was about half a decade or more until I realised the game even had romance options in it.

My current PC (whom I will be playing the Enhanced Saga with), is a Lawful Evil Fighter/Assassin dual named Belindis. She fights with a quarterstaff with a side-business in crossbows and longswords, and finished BGEE with Aule's Staff, The Guide, and The Burning Earth. She will actually be finishing the saga with the Ravager, because I'm going to mod it from a Halberd into a Quarterstaff.

Like most people, I've got 2 opposing characters. They're similar in some ways, opposites in others. If I play a game through with both then I've probably explored a lot of the quest options.

Corvale is a Cavalier and a bit of a conficted boyscout. He tries to do what is best, help folks, redeem NPCs, yadda yadda yadda. If he puts his mind to it, he can kick an arse or two though.

Corvino is some variety of thief or fighter thief. He's not evil, just self-serving, cynical and quite enjoys being antagonistic. He's a lot of fun to play, as I get to choose all the silly, over-the-top dialogue options.

I have many other characters, but these two make it into almost any CRPG I play in some way.

Darrion the Chaotic Neutral Berserker took me through BG2-ToB for the first time. I romanced Jaheira (with the awesome NPC flirtpack included) and brought along Minsc, Aerie, Imoen, and Viconia. I hacked and slashed my way to fortune with Lilarcor, as well, and I consider him a member of the party.

The EE franchise is going to see the rise of my Lawful Evil Blackguard Drake once the patch hits. Not sure how long he'd be able to put up with Lilarcor, so he's likely going to stick with Sarevok's Blade of Chaos for much of the game, at least until I can buy Harbinger and equip enough fire resistance for the fireballs it drops to heal me.
