Birthdays on Toril...

It might sound slightly juvenile but would people celebrate occasions such as this in the Forgotten Realms? Is there more need for it among the lower classes than adventurers?

Historically on earth people have celebrated birthdays for as long as calendars have been a well established part of society. Which is a pretty long time - celebrating birthdays goes back at least as far as the ancient romans.

Most of the more civilized parts of Toril have a pretty well recognised calendar, the most quoted one being Dale Reckoning. So I would have thought most people in Toril would celebrate their birthdays.

Maybe their birthdays were when the group became locked up under Athkatla :D

Irenicus never tortured the protagonist with magic, he just dropped birthday cakes infront of his cage every few days xD

It depends on where you live. A lot do, to some degree or another, especially in regions that worship gods of Family and the like. Halflings definitely do, with them celebrating every few days due to the entire village being extended family and everyone pitching in to help out.

Irenicus: "Go on, god child. Eat the cake."

Charname: "But...I don't want to. I'm so full, and it's too sweet..."

Irenicus: "Fool! How will you ever realize your full potential if you cannot even master the power of frosting?"

Charname: "Please don't... Don't make me...!"

    Irenicus: "Now... EAT THE CAKE."

    Charname: "NOOOOOOOO!"

The unholy union of Irenicus and GLaDOS? Well, an Aperture Labs makeover would certainly improve the BGII tutorial dungeon.

It's alright, Dungeon Be Gone. I'll still keep you in the folder.
