Paladins with the ability to fight on a horse. Seriously they are knights but cant combat on a horse?
While BG has mostly dungeon maps, it would be a welcome change to have more open terrain battles. Obviously they will have to use longer reach weapons such as spears, halberds, two-handed swords and staffs on horseback.
The ability of a combined Paladin Horseman/Horseback Archer:
Advantages: Ability: Cavalry Charge (may use as long as horse has 50%+ health) -When the horseman successfully charges into a group, the charge would send all enemies within 10-radius of the target flying away (mini wing-buffet). All targets suffer 1d10 dmg. The horse loses 25% health.
Passive Ability: -Horseman does 1 extra dmg per attack due to combat bonus from attacking at a higher position. -Normal Speed: walking -Quick Speed: boot of speed -Charge Speed: boot of speed x3
Disadvantages:
-Bigger Target: Horseman gets a +4 AC penalty -Horse takes partial damage and may die in battle (paladin dismount) -Horse cannot be healed except by resting in stable -Horse replacement is expensive (10,000 gold?) -Must equip 2-handed weapons to attack -Longbow/Shortbow on horseback loses the extra attack per round
