Villians with good publicity... need advice.

My current blade isnt bad, but the rest of his group is. I picked up Dorn because of the armor his quest leads to (not to mention hes great) and i also have Viconia. Yet dispite starting off with lower rep because of Chaotic Neutral as well as the -4 from having Viccy and Dorn join up i still find myself at 17 rep as i enter BG. Any good way to lower that (just slightly) without the -8 i get if i kill some mook who was in the wrong place at the wrong time? Thanks

Kill the mook. There's many available in random buildings.

You could always use Shadow Keeper to lower your reputation. Other than that or killing some commoner, you could solve a quest in an evil way I suppose (but I can't think of any at the moment).

Get caught stealing then run away from the guards.

Open a chest in someone's house and get spotted. Resist arrest and run like hell! The guards disappear after a rest so you don't have to worry about killing them.

there's a quest in baldurs gate were a woman asks you to kill some one for her after you've done so you can blackmail her for money and get a rep loss without any repercussions

its in the inn on the same map as the very tall wizard tower were u receive the nymph quest

Blackmail Areana (in he Three Kegs tavern), then come back every 2 days to extort money from her. You get -1 rep each time you do it. On the 10th day she'll hire a merc to take you out. He's kind of dumb so I felt a bit sorry for butchering him. I think you can carry on extorting her afterwards too, but I might be wrong. You can get a good -4 or 5 rep from it, though.

If you want to meta-game a tiny bit, you can always ask Viccy or Dorn to leave the party. Then get them to rejoin. Not sure if it works like that with Dorn, but Viccy will once again give you the rep hit of -2. Or, if you want, try picking up Baeloth who should give you yet another hit.

Beyond that, yeah. Pick pocket someone and get caught. There is also a wood nymph that wants killing down near Nashkal. And a few other quests that intentionally give you negative rep points if you pick the 'Wrong' choices.

yeah i tried that, when Viccy left my rep got a +2 which caused Dorn to leave. Viccy rejoining brought it back down -2 which let me get dorn back but in the end i ended up exactly where i started

Personally, I use BG2Tweaks mod. There is a component there which prevents NPCs from leaving. They still grumble if your reputation is contrary to their alignment though. I believe that keeping a high reputation with my Lawful Evil charname makes sense. He is playing the long game.

Is that a new feature for EE? I want to say historically that voting her off the island did nothing for your rep, but then bringing her back knocked it down again (rinse, lather, repeat), I guess someone figured that the rep hit was because you had her with you rather than because you were the type that would have her with you. Fair enough.

I still say go kill the dryad. Then pick some pockets badly. Should be fine. Also, you can flood the mines if you haven't gotten that far yet. That's always fun.

There was a mod for TuTu (I cant remember which) that made bards available in taverns around the map who you could pay to malign you in their songs and thus lower your reputation.

Of course, this info is of totally no use to you here. ;)

close to the docks, there is a circle og children playing (and if you aim your fireball just right, you may even get a few ekstra young bystanders) thats some good - rep right there!!!!

    The mod is NPC project.

Well, fireballing a tavern is also loads of fun, but can sometimes lead to nasty stuff. Particularly with a rep as high as the OP indicates, blowing your nose in public is - 10 points. I don't think they want to go from 17 to zero in one move. or maybe they do??

When I accidentally hit 18 Rep with my evil party I murdered Algernon for his cloak. Put me nicely back to 9.

Picking nice juicy targets is the best way to go about it. Firebead is one of my favourites. Giving me a freakin book as a quest reward. I grew up in candlekeep. Any book I am interested in I would of read already! Rawr!
Then there is also that guy in Beregost that uses his house as free Inn. Murder his worthless hide and take over his establishment as a new thieves guild in the town. It comes with 3 chests for storage.

Pretty sure the evil NPCs leave at 19. So there's an old trick to maintain 18 rep as evil - unpartying Viccy for +2 rep before taking any +rep reward, and then immediately taking her back in for -2.

IIRC Dorn leaving the party doesn't even give +2 rep (or have they fixed that?), but it gives -2 for him joining you, so you can lower your rep by 2 anytime you want by removing/adding him.

There is a paladin in one of BG's taverns that will attack an evil PC or follower basically on sight. Killing him in self-defence can result in a huge rep loss (from 18 to 9 in my case, iirc).

Theres a girl (Petrine I think) in North BG who wants you to get her ring so her cat will return. Her uncle wants you to kill the cat instead. Killing the cat drops your rep by 1 or 2.

He's in a pub in the same area as the Flaming Fist compound, near the outer wall (its one of the places you can't see the door for due to the angle).

If you talk to the father with 21 charisma, he gives you a Cloak of Protection +1 for killing the cat, too.

i'll probably just whack the gnome in the friendly arm. I regretted giving him that belt back...

I prefer to kill the father and take the cloak.

I like cats, and usually have at least one watching me play...
