    That will be one charname stepping on eggshells all day.

    Be a Fighter/Mage/Cleric, just because you've never done it before.
    And yeah, swap #6 for every character, then finish strong with Viconia or someone.

    Cleric/Ranger, using Warhammers and Flails.
    Dorn
    Hexxat
    Neera
    Rasaad

    You don't need another character beyond that. Use the final slot for Valygar during Sphere quest etc. If you really want a 6th character, grab Sarevok in TOB.

    My two bits:
    Charname as Berserker 9 -> Druid (dual-class)
    5th NPC as the one you get in ToB

    I think this discussion can be interesting not only for me but for others as well because the decision to take all 4 new NPCs may suggest itself.

    i play with such party plus me as shadowdancer/cleric lvl 13/max (660000/max XP)with chaotic natural aligmetnt(all cleric spel avaibel) i like it very much. with spell backstab is max 62 in SoA(club+3) or quterstaff +4 and in ToB is 104 with quterstaff +12. mmy charname has 18% kills form all team it disent

    as 6 member i sugest get korgan the worrior dworf. i get it and he has 33% of all team kills;)

    Take Jaheira - she can hold the line with Dorn, and acts as your party divine caster, although she is not as effective as a cleric. Still, she fills the role, has lots of fun sidequests, and doesn't have alignment difficulties.
    Plus, because she can frontline well with Dorn and Rasaad, you can be whatever you want!! :)
