Draw Bridge

I tried to cross the DrawBridge into Baldur's Gate and was met by a Flaming Fist Mercenary and was told " Due to bandit activity about we've been forced to keep the gates closed perhaps if you return later, things may have changed and wwe may be able to reopen the gates to the city.

Is he politely telling me I still have a lot of bandits I have to kill before I can go into the city. I have been in every screen and killed every thing on it.

Only big thing I haven't killed was Aec Letec, I'm still fighting him

Even with Potion of Magic Blocking he still held me.

Any help would be appreciated.

    You need to reach Chapter 5 before you can enter the city. The guard's reason is just an in-game excuse.

    Indeed, try the Nashel Mines and follow the trail of breadcrumbs from there.

    Nashkel mines, to the bandit camp, through cloakwood to Baldur's Gate.
