Duplication of Mace of Disruption

I had my Mace of Disruption +1 in Jaheira's inventory and went (by myself) to Cromwell to forge it into +2. No problems so far.

When finishing the upgrade, I go into automatic sleep-mode and when I go outside Cromwell's Terminsel shows up saying that Jaheira has gone to the Harper's Stronghold.

I go there, have her rejoin me, and in her inventory she still has Mace of Disruption +1, while I (or Viconia rather) have Mace of Disruption +2 equipped as well.

No, no mods at all. Just BG2:EE as is. If it makes any difference I added the real Ilithium ore via EEKeeper because I was gonna hand in the false ore to Sir Sarles and I managed to talk my way out of getting the quest for the real ore.

To be honest, I think I auto-slept the first time I forged as well (Shadow Dragon scales) but I'm not 100% sure of this.

Do you still want a save game to have a look at what might be wrong?

actually, things like this in the original bg2 happened with Cromwell all the time, because what happens is, Cromwell doesn't take your item, until after he finished building it, which means, that if somehow that item were to be grounded before he gives you the upgrade, you would still have the original, this is how you can get multiple copies of gesen bow; first give the 2 pieces to a weak character that is almost dead, and summon say a skeleton warrior, now you will need some good pause technique/timing, but just before the skeleton completes the finishing blow on the character holding that item, talk with Cromwell, and have him make it ( the gesen bow for example) then what will happen, the game will unpause for a sec, and if you timed it right, the skeleton will kill that character that is holding the 2 pieces to the bow, and then drop them before Cromwell takes them ( because as I said, he doesn't take them until after he finishes building it) and after he will give you your complete bow, and the 2 original pieces will be on the ground where that character died, revive that character, pause;attack; time it right, and keep making gesen bows ( or any item that Cromwell makes) 6 red dragon plates, ect ....

If you have a save game that reproduces the issue each time you forge the weapon then that would be helpful.

& I consoled in the ore when I tried yesterday - don't think that matters either way.

I'm in the Asylum now but I'll give it a shot when I get back. Should probably be quite a lot of talks in queue that would be triggered when I get back to the surface.
