Is there a trick to getting rumors when drinking?

Because I'm a fanatical completest, I like to get my journal updated with as much info as possible, which includes the rumors that you can get at a bar. Is there any trick to unlocking these rumors - i.e: is it dependent upon how many drinks you buy, or the price of the drinks, etc.?

    I wonder if Charisma has an effect here - I've noticed my main (19 CHA) gets rumors much more frequently then Korgan, for instance.

    The thing that influences whether you get info on a rumor or not is the "kind" of drink. Each drink has a percentage score for rumours. It's up to you to find out which drink the bartender is pushing.

    The price is your best bet. Chug expensive beer and the bartender is more likely to open up.

    Generally, I noticed, that ordering the expensive drinks have a bigger chance of getting a rumour from the barkeep. A different representation of the saying 'money talks'
