Want to ask about saved games import...

Upon finishing the game, at original 2 ToB, a final save file was created (as all BG games anyway). But in BG, you could import not only exported characters, but save files too! Does anyone know for sure, what happens, when you import a BG2 ToB final save at 2 SoA beginning? Will the characters be kept and treated as already existing party members, caged in places your multiplayer party would have been, with all skills, level, stats and equippment kept? Or all will go to waste?

Does anyone know for sure? Can someone testify?

If you import an end-game character I assume they will have the same level and stats but lose all their equipment.

@DeathKnight, importing the save game only allows you to import a single character (with the exportable flag) from that save game, not the entire save game itself. Variables and other characters will be the same as what they usually are—governed by what level your own character is—when you start a new game. You will not, for example, find Keldorn in one of the cages upon importing a save game.

Importing from a save file for the purposes of multiplayer is slightly different, but along the same lines.

In either case, all your equipment is lost, but your level and stats will be the same.
