Game wont even start up.

Bought BG2 ED off steam today downloaded it. and when i click the game to start it up it crashes automatically nothing comes up but a crash screen. tried reinstalling and nothing.

    Could be anything. There have been noted issues with the Steam overlay. When you say there's a crash screen, is there a message that says a crash dump has been created? Is the crash screen a generic Windows crash warning?

    You need to include BG2EE in your Data Execution Prevention exception list with the Steam version. It's a known issue and Beamdog has instructions on their support page that tell you how to go about it. The same thing happened to me but now it's working just fine.

    im having the same problem i downloaded the audio and graphics files from their support page and it
    still doesnt work
