tanova vampire encounter crash

I am getting a crash when the vampire tanova ambushes me. it seems random, but may be happening from vampire domination. this is the only vampire encounter I've had a problem with, but then I believe this is my first time with no named vampires rather than the female named ones. SCS and UB are installed. I hear SCS may be a cause for vampire crashes, and if that is the case has it been fixed or would I easily be able to remove the vampire modifications that cause this crash? looks like a got an excuse to try civilization brave new world while I wait :)
