Hey having a problem restoring the game after minimizing

Hey guys first off I want to say the 1.2 patch is a godsend for someone with a Intel chipset like me I really appreciate it.

However I have an annoying problem with minimizing the game and then the game not being restored even though the music and Baldur's Gate pointer will show up. Any fix or workaround for this. (Windows 7 btw)

    Just would like to add that this is on Steam and basically I need a way to "repaint" the screen when I restore the game because otherwise the game picture won't show up again after minimizing.

    I'm seeing the same problem in OSX with BG1, not tried BG2 yet. I minimize the screen from full screen with command-q (is there a better way?) sometimes when I restore everything is fine, other times I'm left with music and a cursor (which changes depending on where the cursor is located) but nothing else. I need to fully exit the game (again with command-q) and reload the game.

    I'm running osx 10.9.1 on the last model MBP.

    If anyone knows of a work around or fix, I'd be greatful :)

    I'm having trouble with this too!
    First time it happened (I usually minimize the game with windows key), it erased all my saved/auto saved/quick saved games and I had to start all over again. Now it just shows the BG cursor on a black background and the music is running. Has anyone found a way to fix this yet?
    Thanks!

    This issue sucks. I've had it ever since I started playing on a Laptop. (AMD Radeon HD 8750M, Win 7 Pro x64)

    This doesn't happen on my Desktop. Ever.

    I haven't found a fix but if i do I'll post.

    @Paradigm8 @Midori @catch @The_Monado,

    I have never had this issue, and I do not have a Mac with which I can test it out on. I would assume the easiest way to fix this would be to enter/exit fullscreen mode (on Windows, that's ALT + ENTER). That should force a repaint of the currently rendered screen—that is, assuming the same feature is available on a Mac (I would imagine it is).

    Alt+Enter makes the game run on windowed mode in the Mac version, just tested. Command+Q 'hides' it, it works properly all the time for me.
