HAPPY.2DA - BG:EE vs BG2:EE

I noticed that the HAPPY.2DA file is different between BG:EE and BG2:EE.

1. In BG:EE, happiness scores have small +/-1 increments between scores in the same general categories (e.g., for Good characters, happiness is 80 at 13 rep, 81 at 14, 82 at 15, etc..). In BG2:EE, there is only the major increments in happiness (e.g., 80, 0, etc..) with no +/-1 increments.

2. In BG:EE, neutral characters are happy at reps > 15 and neutral from 6-15. In BG2:EE, they are happy at reps 13-15 and neutral from 6-12 and above 15.

Does anybody know why the changes were made? Does the lack of +/-1 incrementing affect NPC reactions?

BG1EE HAPPY.2DA (rep >= 10):

GOOD NEUTRAL EVIL
10 0 0 0
11 1 0 -1
12 2 0 -2
13 80 0 -80
14 81 0 -81
15 82 0 -82
16 83 80 -160
17 84 81 -161
18 85 82 -162
19 86 83 -300
20 87 84 -301

BG2EE HAPPY.2DA (rep >= 10):

GOOD NEUTRAL EVIL
10 0 0 0
11 0 0 0
12 0 0 0
13 80 80 -80
14 80 80 -80
15 80 80 -80
16 80 0 -160
17 80 0 -160
18 80 0 -160
19 80 0 -300
20 80 0 -300

    hmm that is interesting, so that would mean if someone edited that table in the file to something really positive for everything. your NPCs will be happy all the time?

    Yes. The significant points in the happiness score are:

    80: Happy
    0 = Neutral
    -80: Unhappy
    -160: Angry
    -300: Break

    Do you know how to edit that table? make everyone say +100 at every rep level so everyone is always happy? :)

    @Ryofu - Unzip the attached file and put it in your override directory.

    Where is the override folder on mac? Do you have to create it?

    @OverHaze -

    The override folders should be in BG[1/2]:EEs' "Resources" folders.

    For example: In BG2:EE, go to /Applications/Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition/Game Data/00782/

    You should see an app there, named "BaldursGateIIEnhancedEdition.app". Right-click on the app, choose "Show Package Contents," and go into /Contents/Resources/ inside the app. If the override folder doesn't exist there, create it. Then, put the HAPPY.2DA file in the override folder.

    The location for BG:EE is similar.

    Would the .2da file also work for BGEE?
