@Larkus Yeah you're right, I haven't considered the "party-friendly" thing. As for the MR trick: yes, they fixed Sunfire but no, the contingencies/sequencers still bypass it.
@SpaceInvader So it seems that they only fixed the symptoms, but not the cause.
By the way, my favorite (ab)use of this trick always was: Sequencer (Web, Web, Spider Spawn), cast on self next to some Drow. See the horror in their faces when they realize that their cheesy magic resistance doesn't help them: "How do you like spiders *now*?" Good times.
