Using an NPC as your PC?

A while ago I decided I fancied playing the game with Imoen as my main character so I used Gatekeeper to create her stats and set out from Candlekeep (I ran away from the real Imoen on the two occasions I met her to avoid talking to myself - that would have been weird). I figured Imoen wouldn't listen to any advice given to her by a buffle-headed old guy like Gorion so instead of working her way to the Friendly Arm Inn I used Gatekeeper again to transport her into Baldur's Gate. She's now wandering around the city with Alora doing all the thieving and fetching-and-carrying subquests. There's a lot you can do in the big city without ever having to resort to violence.

Maybe next time I'll use Alora as my main character. I like the idea of having a small, sweet, pink-haired halfling saying "Happy, happy, joy, joy" as she takes her rightful place on the Throne of Bhaal.

Aye, however you enjoy playing the game, that's how you should play it.
