Best multiplayer rpg?

I just got two versions of BG1:EE so I could play multiplayer with my kids.

I already had two versions of NWN1, but I've never been that fond of it, and there's lots of installing and modding required, which just seems tedious.

So, what should I have bought? I made this poll listing the games I already have, and DA3 because it's the next big thing, but what other options are there? Note I'm talking about out of the box multiplayer, so not Fallout new vegas with mods or anything.

How old are ur kids? The plot of Baldur's Gate is pretty dark actually... More so BG 2 i suppose.

Anyways, since I've only played Baldur's Gate on the above list. I can't really comment.

I know it's much maligned by some, but Diablo 3 is pretty fun for multi player.

I put NWN 1 because its the only ROLE playing game that i've played online, i prefer Diablo 2 its amazing online but it isn't an RPG in my opinion its a hack and slash

NwN back in its day would be a better RPG to multiplayer with. Now, not so much.

I would actually say something like IWD or IWD2. It's a party adventure and each person can take control of a different sprite and there is no game over screen if the main character dies, only at TPK. It's a more linear story so there is no "what to do first" squabbling like there could be in BG. But the game play is every similar to BG, especially the first game.
