mods and installing / uninstalling

forgive me if this should be obvious but I can be a noob when it comes to matters of computers.
I have BG:EE and BG2:EE (bought through beamdog). If I install updates (currently I only have BG / BG2 tweak but looking at others) how do I reset to a clean installation with no mods?
thanks for any help! :)

If you update the update itself will reset the game to a clean status. Then you may install your mods again.

Thanks for the answer. Although I'm having a hard time finding a way to run the update. I run the programs through the beam dog launcher and I can't see an option for it no matter where I look or click (it automatically downloaded and installed the last 1.2 patch itself.
Ditto for when I start the game, and get onto one of the Baldur's Gate screens. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to force the launcher to download the latest update once more to clear your installation?

If it's not what you want, the launcher (Beamdog client or Baldur's Gate stand alone launcher) will just show the update option when a new version becomes available.

If you're trying to force a download there is a way to do that as well.

Hi @mlnevese, yes I was trying to force it to run the update (although it is already the latest) just so it clears all the mods and goes back to standard version

To force update delete the .beam and .status files you'll find just one level above the game instalation folder and then restart the launcher, it should start checking files and restoring the game to a clean status. You may also delete one of the small files, such as baldur.exe to force it, but I don't think it's necessary anymore.
