(Why create a new thread when I can just resurrect an old one, right?)

I'd say my most surprising random drop in BG was a Wand of Fire from one of the Ankhegs at the northern part of the farm.

Which was a nice complement to the Wand of Fire my party just picked up from the underground Ankheg colony in the same area ^.^

BG1: After killing a ghast near beregost, my 3rd level necromancer found a scroll of "contagion" among its loot. It was quite a happy coincidence, since there are no necromancy 4th level spells available in stores before chapter 5, and my mage was supposed to reach level 7 before arriving in Baldur's Gate.

BG2: Quite similar, actually . I found an abi dhalzim horrid wilting scroll in the shelf next to khalid's body. Quite fortunate for a medium level character to find such a cool scroll.

@DJKajuru You just gave me (slim) hope for a no-damage BG1 run. Any idea where you were traveling?

Do you use any mods? I don't think that is possible in an unmodded game...

@joluv , it was one of those ghasts near the submerged house south of beregost.

@Tresset , it was a BGTutu game with stratagems. I don't know which one allowed such a drop, but as far as I know in BG2 ghasts sometimes drop valuable loot such as 7th level scrolls and the like.
