What would make a good fun pirate party?

Swashbuckler pc
Safana
Eldoth
Garrick
Shar-Tael
Viconia or Xan or Dorn for some tankiness?

    I guess you'd need Skie if you're taking (unfortunately). maybe change the swashie to a stalker or blade?

    You can't really have a pirate party without a swashie protagonist, though, can you?

    You should call @Southpaw, a Mind Flayer Swashbuckler Pirate!!
    And don't forgot to kill Saemon Havaerian, we don't allow competence in our business!!

    @mlnevese you are going to create a Time Hole and get displaced into the world of the Stinky Red Cheese, you should really go back and search for your sides to make them fit together for Balance, for Destiny!! It is dangerous to go alone with one of your half, you should watch your actions while doing so, you might:
    1) Create time holes randomly
    2) Shape-shift into a cow, no save no resist
    3) Get a new car and cause a Mind Flayer invasion
    4) Explode like a nuclear bomb
    5) Get to mod a pirate hat into BG:EE and BG2:EE
    6) Get a free poisoned cold coke
    7) Permanently loose 10 Charisma, Wisdom and Intelligence points, no resist no save
    8) Polymorph into a Charmed Mind Flayer wishing to attack his wife, no save no resist
    9) Get Imprisioned with a non-stop track of Ricardo Arjona, no resist no save
    10) Go to fight in the Blood Wars for the Devils
    11) Go to fight in the Blood Wars for the Demons
    12) Get your alignement changed to Lawful Good, no way to go back, no save nor resist
    13) Earn free plane passages to Japan, watch out for leaking nuclear reactors!

    14) Got Dire Charmed and loose the game, no save nor resist
    15) Get your brain abducted by Mind Flayers
    16) Get a cursed Dagger -3
    17) Transform into a replicant and find that you're being hunted by a Blade Runner
    18) Polymorph into an Illithid, no save nor resist

    I tried Wild Magic once.
    Got 18) Get polymorphed into an Illithid. No save.

    No effect!

    Oh dear, lol.

    The line was supposed to be Viconia for wench heals. Xan for his possible banter with Eldoth and Skie if I got her instead of Safana or Dorn for some more tankiness.

    It was quite early and I was in a hurry.

    Oh. Well, you might want to go with Xan and Dorn instead of Shar-Teel. I assume you want both bards for the banter, and if you already bother with that, you can as well take Skie and Xan along. Dorn with the backup of a Swashie PC can hold the frontline, and doesn't come with Shar-Teel's risk to kill Eldoth. Eldoth-Garrick-Skie(-Xan) is awful in terms of con and AC as it is, don't test your patience even more. Plus Dorn gets you the badly needed Elven Chain for one of the bards.

    Swashie PC
    Garrick (with Armor spells and all only)
    Dorn
    Xan
    Eldoth (with Elven Chain + con tome for 16 con; dex gloves = ok backup frontliner or excellent archer, but Garrick is no good at all in melee, so I'd put Eldoth there with PC and Dorn)
    - probably a cleric; Branwen fits better in a pirate theme due to her viking-style backstory --> switch out for Skie (though Skie is a capable thief, the only role in a pirate theme she could play would be the kidnapped noble daughter she is... makes some sense)

    The odd one out here would be Xan, he's all but a pirate. I'd consider taking Branwen instead and rely on the bards and wands for arcane magic. (Dorn can use a few wands with his INT, too.) She fits the theme better, you need a cleric, she brings at least a bit con and frontline ability and the main banter is the trio Garrick-Eldoth-Skie anyway.

    I really can't see Xan as a pirate... the first time he said anything about being doomed his shipmates would dump him out of the ship...

    I also see Shar-Teel as a good Pirate, just give her a bandana and she's ok, as she already have the "ARGH" face!

    I agree Xan isn't really much of a pirate, but I was thinking some more arcane and I know he has the banter with Eldoth, Skie, and Garrick. So that was part of it. But I guess if I roll with two bards they could cover that.
