I'll try I think bg1 has to have three: kagain, kivan and coran. The truest tank in the game, the best "switch-hitter" who can both shoot and stab well and an unbeatable sniper. I don't think I can see this party without those three. Baeloth, Edwin/Neera in EE or Edwin and Xzar/Xan in vanilla. Not really sold on needing two full time casters. May consider Quayle for Xan/Edwin for the utility (so. many. spells) I guess a Cleric/Ranger charname to get a divine spellcaster who can still fight. Perhaps if you have all the cleric you need with Quayle (Kagain takes care of his own healing) you could go for an Archer since BG1 is big on ranged fighting? dunno

The leveling is much too slow and your characters will suck for most of the game.
A 4 man party is better IMO
In BGEE, i also think than having more than 1 arcane and 1 divine caster is not necessary.
Full time thief is also non optimal.
I would do :
Baeloth (edwin before)
Yeslick (viconia before)
Coran (or shar teel dual)
Blackguard PC (poison weapon is totally OP in BGEE)
This party will fly through the game.
Edit : a PC F/T and Dorn might be better given Dorn strength.
