Reasons not to buy BGEE

So I'm curious. I was looking at the numbers of people who have the first comment badge, which is at 1500. And also the pre order badge which is around 1000. So about a third of our community hasnt pre ordered it. Are you guys waiting for mac/android versions, waiting to see if it goes on steam, just don't have the cash yet, or something else? I'm sure this would help give some info to the devs also so they can get a peak into everybodys thought processes about it.

Normally I dont pre order anything because it could tun out to be crap, Super smash bros brawl for example. Something that was supposed to be perfect still became a disaster. But in this case, I know that I at least get BG working nicely on my current OS hopefully for the rest of my life.

    I'm waiting for the Mac version. I've got a PC but it is powered by steam and it gets upset when you try to persuade it to go online and download stuff from the internet.

    Will buy it, no doubts about it. Might even get it for multiple platforms. I am however waiting to see if there'll be a Steam release.

    i preordered but i sign in to the page using facebook or gmail account or some such, but on beamdog, i use my yahoo email addy, so i don't get the badge for preordering, even though i did.

    But, since my wife bought the game for me because she knows i'm excited about it, i have something much more special then a badge. :)

    anyways, point is, there are lots of ways to log into the forums, but only one way to log into beamdog.

    gonna buy ipad version if the release is at the same time as the pc version if not then buy the pc versio

    I don't pre-order as a rule, but I'll be picking up the PC version as soon as it's available.

    Need cash. Well, I first need a job, but that is underway so... It's a matter of weeks. Probably will pre order it early september.

    I primarily want to try this on a tablet (Android), and am not sure whether I'll still want to play on a PC after that. Still, I may yet cave in and get the PC version as well.

    There's no benefit to pre-ordering early so I'm probably going to do it a few days before the release. The likelihood of me pre-ordering is about 95% but I'd rather wait for some more info on the game.

    @discoCat i would actually love some news or anything. it's been awhile since we were told anything. honestly, i'd like to see some game footage, and maybe hear the voices for the new chars.

    @azurit what do you think the chances of an early release is? maybe unlikely but for some reason, i don't seem to be getting into any other games knowing this one is coming.

    I preordered and I don't have the badge. Using the forums as reference for measuring the sales isn't very reliable.

    @Bjjorick i think there is almost zero chance of early release, for example, translation process of new content even doesn't started :( (translators still didn't get the new texts)

    Also they have much problems with the UI, so BG:EE wont be ready even in Sep 18th, they will continue to update it after the release..

    Only reason I've not pre-ordered is mainly due to not knowing which platform I will be buying it on. Most likely iOS and either Windows or Mac.

    I wont have time to play from day one and hope for a gog release so nothing lost on waiting it out.
    Would be nice to wait until BG2EE ships so I could get the full experience in one go but doubt I'd manage to stay away for that long.

    Topic title is very misleading...I expected someone to start ranting about how priviledged they are and how bgee isnt good enough, nor worth their money. But i was wrong.

    my wife bought it for me knowing how excited i was, and she used OUR money to do it. i asked her to stay at home with the kids since i work alot, and kids need a parent there growing up, but she still does small jobs over the comp like graphic design (she taught herself) and others just to bring in small amounts. I would have been lazy and played video games while the kids were at school everyday. :)

    As a rule I don't pre-order until 1-2 weeks before release.
    However as there is no Steam, GOG or boxed version (yet) I most likely wont be getting this game until there is.

    I haven't pre-ordered because of money and me just generally being cheap. I will buy BG:EE one day, I just haven't decided what day that will be :).

    Still haven't found a new job yet. I have enough money squirreled away to pick it up at release, and I'll prolly pre-order a week prior but for now trying to make sure I have a job first is all in case I need that 20 someplace else.

    Yeah, I'm looking for a different job. Just making ends meet at the moment. Hopefully this college degree kicks in eventually :D

    But good luck to your finding work, and everybody else who is as well....well, unless you are an accountant in Indianapolis, then I can't root for you too hard.

    I was waiting for clarification from Beamdog on a question I asked about how BGEE's playability would be assured in the event of Beamdog closing its doors. Trent just answered my question today, will be preordering later tonight or tomorrow.
