The castle quests for fighter

Hi guys. I have a fighter character and are doing the castle quests after becoming the lord. But now it seems my quest can't continue. I have finished the step of the priest asking for a place. But after that, I cant trigger the next quest, and I am already in chapter 6 now. Is there something wrong?

    I think that it's the last quest.

    I read some playthrough online says there are some big events after that. Some dude want invade the castle and you are gonna defend it.

    It takes a REALLY long time to trigger. Sleep a lot.

    The events occur on a weekly basis, IIRC.

    Should I be in some particular places to trigger the event?

    I don't think so. You can go and check whether the the keep manager has something for you.
    However your next step is to be contacted by a messenger, then this triggers a timer and you are required to reach the castle within a short timeframe.
    Maybe the game "thinks" you met that messenger and the timer ran out.

    I think the messengers only come in outdoor areas, so you can spend as much time as you want in a dungeon and a messenger may come when you exit the dungeon.
    When i'm waiting for them, i just continue with dungeon quests.
