Gorion's Magical Death

Im not sure if this will already be taken care of, but I noticed in BG1 that when Gorion dies at the hand of the 'Armoured Figure', he might take a few legitimate hits from the 'Armoured Figure', but the moment he actually dies there is nothing to cause it. He just falls down dead taking 6 dmg from nothing. It would be nice if you could fix this, I mean, his death is what fuels so much of the game, and to make the whole act 100% would be much worthwhile.

The thing with that scene is that its not really a video, its an actual battle taking place using regular battle mechanics (well, some things might be modified to ensure that Gorion lives long enough). Gorion sometimes just dies because he's scripted to die a certain amount of time after the fight starts.

Lets say he dies from his wounds.

With that system, we will never know exactly when gorion will die. The battle can be short and can also be long. If sarevok do a critical hit on gorion...

So this scene doesnt bother you guys at all? how Gorion just magically dies for no reason? Surely it could not be out of the creators power to make this scene more realistic, i noticed in other threads they are fixing small things like how the 'Armoured Figure' begins talking before Gorion tells you were in an ambush. But his actual death is of even less important than this???

Setting his death a second earlier or later would time it along with one of Sarevok's strikes (which he'll probably hit), making it a bit more realistic. That should be an easy fix.

The same thing happens in some of the dreams in BG2. Maybe it is induced by ocd, but I get really annoyed when imoen turns into the slayer, attacks bodhi, and *miss*,*miss*,*miss*, *dies* happens

Its really not an easy fix. Like I said, that's an actual battle going on and the scripts don't act the exact same way every time, sometimes Sarevok will start attacking earlier, other times he starts attacking later.

remove the counter, slightly nerf Sarevok's hits, give Gorion more HP. Also give Sarevok a little bit of Magic Resistance to make sure he wins.

It would actually be funny if for some bug the kill command in Gorion's script failed and after an impossible number of critical hits he killed Sarevok in the beggining :)

It would make for a much shorter BG! Somebody would boast, "I defeated Baldur's Gate in less than one hour!"

It would be nice if Sarevok was given a sword that instant killed in that scene and had the timer removed.

I would like the start copletely random, only the order of Gorion attaks should be scripted. And he should raise defenses.

If you cold make the fight an even more epic scene, I beleive everyone would be very happy and impressed. At least a mirror image spell from Gorion, then as @FrozenDervish suggested an instant kill from Sarevok once Gorion's mirror image has worn off. That should give Gorion ample time to show of his magic to.
