@jaysl659 I realize why people say that they aren't real Baldur's Games has nothing to do with the location of the game, I just find it funny that it happens to be more in Baldur's Gate than BG2. I suppose I should have clarified, location was a secondary point but the Hack n Slash is obviously the reason. Also, well played @CoryNewb.
Well, the argument that they aren't "true Baldur's Gate games" has nothing to do with whether or not they're set in Baldur's Gate, but rather with the fact that they are not even the same style of game as the first Baldur's Gate game. Dark Alliance is a real-time 3d hack and slash action RPG. I don't have anything against the Dark Alliance games, they're good for what they are, but the statement that they're not "true" Baldur's Gate games is a valid one, it's just a metter of perspective.
Sorry to continue the DA argument, but I don't see how it being a hack n slash doesn't make it a BG game.
It is still based on the DnD ruleset, and it takes place in BG..
By that argument fallout 3 isn't a true fallout game, nor is Metroid prime a true metroid game

Well if you seriously don't see the difference then there's really no point in continuing this back and forth as we have clearly differing perspectives. Baldur's Gate is not a hack and slash action RPG, it has a good deal of combat yes but it's focus is largely on story and npc interaction. DA is not a true Baldur's Gate game in that it is so unlike Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, it's as simple as that. DA 1&2 were both developed by studios other than Bioware (Snowblind and Black Isle respectively); They both used a different ruleset than the original BG games, yes it was D&D but it was 3rd edition instead of 2nd; and they were both designed as a different genre than the original BG games (namely, action RPG vs. RPG, they had a specific focus on action).
Anyway, that's the last I'm gonna say about it, if you want to discuss it further then message me or start a new discussion about it, this thread is for MEMEs and these off-topic arguments only serve to derail it.
@Riolathel (and anyone else interested/having any issues) if you're having trouble getting your pics on here, I'd recommend using quickmeme, it always works well for me. The most convenient part is that it creates a "tiny link" to just the image if you modify the tiny link with a ".i" after the "http://" and a ".jpg" at the end.

And on that note, I'll include a MEME:
Or, if you'd prefer one without a joke about ball sweat:
Another 10-guy.. Thanks to a scroll i found a few minutes ago
@jaysl659
You missed my point but i agree and i don't wish to further muddy the awesome spirit of the MEME thread
there i fixed it.. deleted the img part without noticing
So, for example, this is the full url for my last meme: "http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3s54dd/"
On the right of that page you'll see "share tiny link" listed as: "http://qkme.me/3s54dd"
And so the final link to just the image is this: "http://i.qkme.me/3s54dd.jpg"
This last one is the one that should replace the text within the quotes in
So in the post window before posting it it looked like this:
Sorry to do the same joke 3 times, but I couldn't decide which picture of geese attacking people looked better.
