I think that it shouldn't bypass it, that's why I'm making the report of this bug.

    That's probably because it's not a standard Confusion spell. The spell used is more like an innate ability; it has no spell school/category. I would assume what @CamDawg‌ said before about traps also applies here, but only he or someone who knows what is supposed to happen in that circumstance would be able to say for certain.
