Inverse Party for BG1 :D

I am planning on doing a special run, where all the characters play the exact opposite of their normal roles, e.g. mages fight on the frontlines with fighters healing them up ^^

So far I have:

Kagain, a brilliant fighter however in this run, he becomes a healer/meatshield XD I will get the Vampire sword on to him, then use the Sword to heal my guys after/during battle and simply rest him to heal off the damage :D

Mordaine/Xan, both good mages but with the right items, they can become deadly in combat. Xan has no health? Potions of Fortitude will solve that no problem :D (remind me what happened if you drank a potion before a level up?)

Those are a few of what I have lined up for this fun run but I want more ideas on which I should run :)

    Of course you must make Imoen your front line damage dealer. Maybe have her dual wield?
    Kagain as healer is perfect in my eyes, but talking meat shield, that's sort of what he's best suited for. Have him hang back and throw down like a real Cleric.
    I think Xan would be "better" as your tank.
    Very novel idea, by the way. I'd love to see how it pans out.

    :D SO adding him as the ranged to the run ^^ Pity he can only use the sling though :/

    Also Garrick will be fantastic, I will make him the hit-and-run kiter, using boots of speed and dagger of venom XD

    Hmm just had an idea :) I could use Coran as a mimic caster :D

    Basically yes, he would be using arrows, but only ones which have spell-like qualities ^^ Arrows of Detonation and Arrows of Dispelling as such.

    As @SCARY_WIZARD said, Edwin can use throwing daggers besides slings. He can also use darts.

    Yeslick should be the scout, all you really need is sanctuary, right? And...and find traps is SO much more reliable than an actual Thief.

    Love it, suggestions:
    Dynaheir as Invoker could become a support-caster, and with two Wisdom Tomes dual into Cleric to finally deliver.

    Xzar is known to occasionally dabble as a cleric too, but if you spend effort trying to find him sneaky spells, he is but one Tome away from dulling to Thief.

    An alternate candidate for the Dex Tome would be Branwen, who is also just one point away from Thieving.
    Main reason here is that Cleric -> Thief is one of the less trodden paths in multi/duals.

    Also with the Tomes, Safana is another candidate to give up Thieving for Maging, but that seems like a path too well trod.

    I think Dynaheir is a good for your theme, Necro being opposed to Illusion would make the Xzar thief interesting, more appropriate than the Cleric/Thief although I prefer that for the less-played mechanic approach.

    Forgot to mention the Dynaheir is, of course, a natural healer of poisons...

    Xzar as a thief will be extra tough due to his being barred from using Illusion spells. Not saying it can't be done.

    Ok then, I've finally decided on a list of all possible candidates:

    Garrick, Hit-and-Run Kiter, restricted to melee and no spells.
    Kagain, Healer/Meatshield, only use vampire sword.
    Edwin, Ranged attacker, restricted to only use "white" spells and projectiles.
    Xan, Tank/Deathbringer, restricted to use only "blue" and "white" spells and Moonblade.
    Coran, Mimic caster, restricted to use only spell-like projectiles.
    Yeslick, Scout/Bezerker, restricted to only use "white" spells and Kiel's Morningstar.

    Which of thse would be the best and what should I do about CHARNAME?

    Maybe CHARNAME should be a shared out low roll attempting to be a jack of all trades

    You seem to be lacking a crowd-control caster, which might be handled relatively straightforwardly by a Jester (restricted to song) or perhaps a druid, who I think have weakest crowd-control spells for BG1, probably in the Shapeshifter kit, which adds nothing helpful for that role.

    ^^ Honestly I am planning on minimal use of spells during the run and also using a CC caster would spoil the fun a little :P Cmon, just imagine Garrick running with a horde of gibberings after him and Kagain too XD

    In my experience, any extra HPs gained by drinking a potion and/or casting a spell before levelling up will be lost once the spell/item wears off.

    Is the PC, who is presumably the general for this overall strategy, going to have around 7 Int and 5 Wis? What class?

    I haven't decided on a strategy for the PC yet but I want him to be a challenge ^^

    XD Skie though sounds like a fun leader :3

    The idea was ameant to be to him in with Armor cast and use Touch spells, like Chill touch and shocking grasp.

    Ok update:
    We met Silke and she kinda hated us from the off, come on who gives you a lower wage than that was advertised, so when it came to the decision of turning it on her >:D We all went for her (Me and Khalid) and it happened......

    She was able to cast the invisibility and then let loose a lightning bolt at Khalid. Khalid gets hurt bad but that wasn't the worst part.....The bolt continues, kills the bystanding Garrick and goes back to kill Silke. The only reason it didn't hit Khalid again, was because he was already crying to Town Crier in the next street after running away. Of course my character went weak at the knees too due to Khalid wetting his pants so I had no control for a few minutes as they ran around like headless chickens......

    I like this run so far ^^ But I'm sad I kinda lost Garrick :( Oh well, I guess we can sober up in this pub just next to where Silke was :)

    Personally I'd be more annoyed at the loss of experience (due to her killing herself). :)
