Help me get rid of Jaheira in an RP-justified way

I am currently doing my first-ever playthrough of the two enhanced editions. In BG:EE, I had both Jaheira and Khalid in my party. Not because I particularly wanted to; it just so happened that I picked them up at the Friendly Arm and before I knew it, we had shared way too much time adventuring together. When this happens, I just cannot bring myself to giving an NPC the boot. I just can't. My charname is incredibly prone to guilt, and his sensitive little bhaalsoul just can't handle the task of firing a companion after a bond has been forged. So I let them stay until the very end.
The problem persisted into BG2:EE. I really did not want to take Jaheira. Nothing against her, personally. She is a well-written character and a versatile combatant. It is just that I've had her in my party in almost every playthrough to date and was eager to try some new NPC's. Like Anomen. The poor boy has never had the pleasure of knowing the company of Charname, a wrong I was determined to redeem this time around. Still, there was the issue of getting rid of Jaheira. From a roleplaying standpoint, I just could not justify firing her for no reason, not after everything that went down on the Sword Coast. There was also the emotional aspect. She had just lost her husband to torture and Charname was her sole remaining comfort. To drop her would be to break her spirit, and there was no way my Charname could handle that. Not after a dialogue screen like this:
Talk about a guilt trip!
So, dear forumites, I am turning to your sage advice in my plight. Help me come up with an acceptable stroy/plot of how to make her go away or *ehm* disappear in a way that is neither immersion breaking or too heart wrenching. Pretty please!

"whoops......."
Or have Neera cast wild surges near Harper's Hold in Docks. Sooner or later a damaging effect will hit the Harpers and if any neutral Harper goes hostile there, Jaheira will turn on you too. So you will need to kill her, OR just hold/make uncouncious/polymorph/maze her and flee. Your char can blame everything on Neera and then you can romance her.
Or have either Aerie or Viconia romance your charname, and when they catfight over you, let Jaheira know that you are just friends, and she will say 'ofcourse we are friends, oh whatever..' and act all cool about it and then you can kick her later and she will not cry much.
If you think you'll pick her up again, do it in an inn. Change her back, and when she asks how long she was asleep just say she was really really tired. :-)
Ironically enough, the problem took care of itself without me even trying. I entered the Sea's Bounty and ran into Baron Ployer, whose existence I had totally forgotten. After cursing Jaheira, I decided to do the Harper's quest which I had been putting off for a while. After finishing the first leg (getting Xzar assassinated) Jaheira was immediately summoned back to the hold by Meronia, leaving my party. Not knowing what else to do, I went back to Sea's Bounty and rested for 8 hours. Jaheira reappeared but was killed by the curse before she could initiate dialogue!
Now, this was totally unexpected, and I probably would have been upset under normal circumstances. If I remember correctly, the curse is supposed to take 7 full days to kill Jaheira. Well, anyhow, problem solved I guess.
(Probably should be bug reported, though.)
Breaking up is sometimes hard to do. But if you rip the bandaid off quick enough, it doesn't hurt as much. Good luck with your playthrough. Hope you don't regret Anomen though.
Granted, they are both annoying as hell, but also versatile and useful companions.
Sometimes in BG1 I ditch characters in a gambling tent at the carnival. Hey, it's not my fault they developed a gambling addiction and don't want to adventure with me anymore.
Heh.
Alternatively, if BG2, she was never there at alllll
Woooeeeoooo
Yet another reason Fighter -> x duals invariably turn out terrifyingly OP. Anomen theoretically offsets this with his mechanically worthless spear pips, but that's an RP decision first and foremost, and in the end, it's not as though he grows into anything other than monstrously powerful.
Another opportunity would be to get your reputation low-but-not-too-low, so that when the Harpers attack you, Jaheira stays neutral in the conflict and then leaves afterwards.
Edit: Or you could let her die of the curse, I suppose. XD
1)Make a backup instalation.
2) Open Near infinity
3) Erase them from Irenicus dungeon.
4) They were never there, let's get out of here Imoen.
5) Realize that Anomen is a jerk and Keldron can't do all the fighting stuff on his own.
6) Restart.
I personally opt for this solution, as trippy solutions such as 'accidental' Imprisonment or Petrification are dubious at best (can't think of a solution for either of those things, really?) and editing files leaves a lot to be desire in terms of narrative continuity.
Getting her killed is not that difficult at low levels. Just attack a couple of ogres head on
Have her attack a strong enemy, that usually smashes someone to tiny bits from melee attacks.
