[DUPE] - Garren Windspear not present at end of Windspear Quest

edited May 2014 in Not An Issue
After I saved Garren's child (Taar, in my case) and defeated Firkraag, Garren Windspear is not present in his cabin. Taar is and says his dialogue correctly, but Garren is nowhere to be found. This prevents me ending the quest.

This may be related to another bug which happened earlier in the same game. It is described here:
http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/28571/7398-core-garren-windspear-suffering-from-premature-exposition?

Expected behavior:
Garren should be in his cabin after you rescue his child. His dialogue should end the quest and give you bundles of XP as a reward.

The whole 0000000 folder is needed for the save, zip the same where you got that .SAV (with all it's files inside).

Hm... not sure if we should treat this as a separate bug or as an extension of #7398. I would assume there is a variable that is supposed to be set at once the player accepts Garrens' invitation. If that issue is fixed it would probably prevent this one. I'm going to mark this as a duplicate. If it turns out that this is replicable without experiencing the first part, post your findings and it will be treated as a separate bug.

If you can provide a saved game, post it in the other topic you linked (to avoid clutter), and we'll see if we can at least fix the issue with your saved game as well as find out where it's going screwy. :-)

Thanks, both of you. I'll post the full save over there.
