In the Iceland capital city of Reykjavik there’s a place called Baldursgata (those who have been on this forum for some time likely know it already).
Also, as I've found out only recently, there’s a street called “Baldersgade” in Copenhagen. Just type "Baldersgade Copenhagen" in google and you'll see a map of this city with this street highlighted.
The popularity of this name in northern countries is explained by the fact that there's a god in Norse Mythology called Baldr (also Balder, Baldur) - a god of light and purity. It's hilarious this light Baldr and the lord of murder are both connected with the name of our favourite game in my head.
You're talking about the Mesa Verdi that was home to the Anasazi Indians for more than 1,000 years.
The Cliff Palace is the largest cliff dwelling in North America. The structure built by the Ancient Pueblo Peoples is located in Mesa Verde National Park in their former homeland region. The cliff dwelling and park are in the southwestern corner of Colorado, in the Southwestern United States.
It very much resembles the Gnoll stronghold:
Just google "mesa verde cliff dwellings" and you'll see how much it looks like the Gnoll stronghold
Gnomish Mage tower?
Off topic but appropriate, enjoying a Bard's Brew... brewed by Bard's Tale Brewery.
