Wondrous Gloves.

SionIVSionIV Member Posts: 2,689
What is the name of Wondrous Gloves in the game override? Or where do i find the item file? Was planning on moving it over to BGEE so i'm able to import this item into BGEE through BGEEkeeper. In BG2EE it's named BRAC25 but i can't find the file anywhere?

If you don't care about string references for it being wonky (you'll get a weird number showing up in your inventory screen) you can just post the itm file in here into your override folder in BGEE.

I think we got a different lineup in our installation? That's Tzu'Zan bracers for me? And what's with the weird number? Haven't got anything like that on these gloves.

    Isn't brac26.itm Tzu'Zan's?

Yes? And the BRAC25 should be the wondrous ones?

You can export files with EEKeeper by clicking the Export button :p when having the item/spell selected. Same applies for creatures.

Yep. It doesn't exist in BGEE though normally so that is why you put it into the override folder. At least in my case once I use C:CreateItem("Brac25") and equip the bracers in the AC section I get an invalid string reference (because the gloves have no identified name).

So is there anyway to get them into BGEE like the Tzu'Zan ones? And those work perfectly in my game, i also got the bracers of AC 3 which work fine as well.

I did the create thing in clua console that you showed me, and it does give me the stats but show as invalid (which you told me). But is there anyway to fix or repair this?

@CrevsDaak might know. Basically its lacking the string reference so its got nothing to write name wise.

The Wondrous Bracers are used by BG1NPC, so I created a mini-mod to add them (and a few other items) to BGEE. This mini-mod will add them and install the necessary strings to dialog.tlk.

How overpowered would these gloves be in BGEE? I've been pondering it and every class has something special for them that they can use while the bard doesn't get anything at all.

Mage - Ring of Wizardry, Archmage robe.
Cleric - The ring from Mulahey.
Rogue - Shadow Armor, Stealth boots.
Fighter/Paladin/Ranger - Full plate and awesome weapons.
Monk - The gloves from Rasaads quest chain.

But the bard has nothing, and i don't feel those gloves would be that over the top? But perhaps i'm wrong.

I'd tell you but I have no access to the progression charts I'd usually use :)

    (for comparing with a mage)

Bards do get the elven chainmail.

Which is pretty much worse in every way.

Same AC as the archmage robe.
    - to pickpocket.
    No saving throw bonus.
    No magic resistance.
    Weights more.
Much harder to get and takes longer to get it.

@SionIV, @elminster - Bards also get Greagan's Harp. Not game-changing, but not too bad an item.
