Problems downloading the flirtpack for BG2:EE

I'm really new to downloading mods and I just wanted to start simple and download the flirtpack but I just cannot figure this out.
I have the newest Macbook Pro and running the latest OSX, and if it helps, I got my version of BG2:EE off the app store.
First I tried the mac version, but every time I click on the setup, it tells me I don't have the appropriate permissions when I'm logged on as the admin.
Then I tried going through Weidu, following the instructions from here: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/16334/installing-mods-in-osx-a-quick-tutorial
But when I get to the part where I put in "./setup-NPCFlirtV103" I get an error that looks like this:
[./setup-NPCFlirtV103] WeiDU version 23600
WARNING: unable to open log file [SETUP-NPCFLIRTV103.DEBUG]: Sys_error("SETUP-NPCFLIRTV103.DEBUG: Permission denied")
** ERROR ** [SETUP-NPCFLIRTV103.TP2] not found.
Make sure that you have unpacked the archive correctly and
that you are not trying to run this file from inside an archive.[./chitin.key] 185 BIFFs, 59857 resources
Please help!

And then doing as you said and changing the permissions of everything involved, and it eventually worked out alright.
