I just bought Euro Truck Simulator 2 for $5. I'm not even sure if I'm ever going to play it, because I'd have to move a lot of equipment around. It would have been so much easier if it was out for PS3 as well.
You should log in into steam and vote for the RPG pack on crowed choice to get BG2 EE on 75% discount it iwll be then something like 15$ for bg and bg2 on EE edition.
I never buy anything from steam unless its on sale
I'm generally the same. If a game is available somewhere else I'd buy it there. But sometimes I have no choice, since some games are only available digitally from Steam, like Shadowrun Returns.

I think GOG started selling it later. I think it was originally only available on Steam. I pre-ordered before the game was even out, and Steam was the only option.
Sucks that it lost the vote on the Community Choice, especially against such poor competition. Hopefully there's still a flash, and daily deal coming up so that more people will be inclined to pick up the game and experience its wonders.
I am very seriously tempted to pick both up on Steam right now. Does anyone have a persuasive answer to shylaman's question? I'd hate to pick up the inferior version of the game. Unless it's extremely cheap. But I'd hate to have even the slightest regret about it.
For BGEE you get version 1.2 if you buy on Steam. If you buy on Beamdog you normally get 1.2 but you can apply to get access to the latest beta patches (which is version 1.3). At some point in the near future 1.3 is to be released generally though I don't know how long that will take to get to Steam (based on past patches that could be anywhere between a few days to weeks).
In the case of BG2EE they are the same game and version number at the moment. The only difference between the two is that the Beamdog version might get beta patching (which means you get patches sooner). But at the moment both the Steam and Beamdog versions are the same.
Figured I'd let people know that its only staying 75% off for another 2.5 more hours.
The game page says 25 hours 11 minutes left. The daily deals are usually for 48 hours. The next deals are the encore, but my guess is that the 25 hours is the correct length.
