Hmmm? Items randomly disappearing upon using "import character"?

Say, i completed the tutorial, collected all items on my main character, exported him and finished the tutorial after that. I then started Baldur's Gate, on multiplayer (tcp-ip). Created a random, fodder, new main, started the game, saved it, and then loaded, deleted character, imported real main and started game. I noticed he was missing one or two items.
In the original, this happened some times (loss of items or xp/level upon import, after levelling up and/or collecting items and then export-import), and it was usually solved by exiting game, restarting it, and them loading and importing once again. So i tried just that in the EE.
After 3-4 tries, i finally managed to have the character imported correctly, as it should have been from the very first try. Despite this issue having been solved, i cannot help but wonder; has anyone else encountered it? Has anyone else found a solution to it?? Has anyone else nagged for it to get corrected in a possible future patch???

Issue had not been "keeping the tutorial items when you are not supposed to". Issue is, "items are not kept correctly and accurately, as they should, when you import character, and you have to import a character a few times, in order to get your entire item list correctly imported on him"!
