    The bear was beastly! Sadly it's just a one on one. I think the xvart stands a good chance if it could get into melee range! :D

    Yeah, maybe if they could get into melee range. But, from my experience every kobold seems to have a bow so it'd be tough for him! :P

    Plus, if you watch carefully, you'll see that the bear actually attacks the xvart leader when she first appears.

    Considering that you rarely encounter either single Xvarts or Kobolds, it seems a bit anti-intuitive to assess them as individuals. Seems the value and strength of these creatures resides in their behavior patterns. So Kobolds group up and send a hail of arrows at you while you approach and Xvarts scream in that high pitched and annoying way and charge. In that, it would seem to me that looking at it from the perspective of Kobolds in groups and at range versus Xvarts charging/closing to HtH range would the the most appropriate test.

    So, unless the Kobolds' hearing is more sensitive than humans and the Xvarts scream actually HURTS them, I think it is a foregone conclusion that Kobolds would win that conflict.
