Question on EEkeepering a Blackguard elf

I want to make a blackguard elf PC. I assume to best way is to make elf fighter then
ee keeper it to blackguard? When I do this I do not gain the blackguard's innate abilities at lvl 1 so I have
to add them in as well manually. Does this mean when I hit X level and gain more blackguard innates that I have to add those in too or will it automatically add them?

Since it is an illegal class/kit/race combination, it might be treating it as a generic Fighter. Similar to the way a Fallen Paladin basically becomes a Fighter. I haven't really experimented all that much. In any case, adding abilities with Keeper will be much easier in the upcoming version.

Only thing I'm not sure about: if you EEKeeper a Human into an Elf, does the Elf automatically get the 90% charm protection? If this is the case, then your procedure sounds ideal.

Another option is to roll an Elven Fighter, change it to Blackguard in EEKeeper and also set your character level to 0. If you then open your edited game, your charname will level up (from level 0 to level 1 Blackguard). You could save that game and open it in EEKeeper to set your hitpoints and weapon proficiencies to the appropriatrer number for a level 1 Blackguard.

It should add the charm and sleep protection instantly, but you may need to level up once to activate it.

Ok in that case, creating a Human Blackguard and editing it to Elf is the way to go.

I have ToBex installed which has the same effects as the G3 Tweak pack, and did something similar creating a crusader elf and a cavalier drow. Various attributes were missing such as the cavalier immunities. I then imported that character into the game and "hey presto!" I got those immunities. I therefore think that if you import your created character, any missing attributes should appear upon doing so. slight problem that I had was that the ToBex mod only made it possible to have the standard kits. However, made a standard paladin and then used keeper to adjust the kit.

Actually, the protection to those spells is *GIVEN* by those spells... I mean, there aren't any other ways of doing so (percetange protection to a particular effect) in the IE, so it's implemented this way.

Perfect, so the character will get the resistance instantly.

I said so because I remember an instance in the original game if you edited your character into a Dwarf you would have to level once for Shorty Saves to kick in and I was unsure if it worked that way for the Elf too, good to know !

Yeah, it should also work, but I am not sure about the +1 to THAC0 with Bows and Swords, hence why I recommend to start with a plain Fighter an then change the kit and the class.

THAC0 and saving throws are calculated at level-up, so the +1 bonus to bows and swords should get applied when you gain a level.

Just wondering. Are there two Blackguard mods about? IN BG1 the Blackguard is a fighter. In BG2 he's a paladin. ???

@Wise_Grimwald‌ The discussion isn't about a mod, it's about the official BGEE added Blackguard class, which is a paladin kit.

It would be really much much easier to start as a Human Blackguard, then keepers it to an Elf, also change the apparance to Male Elf Fighter and you are done.

(You could also need to edit your Dex to 19 and your Con to 17 depending on what you rolled for you character)
