Is there any way to export NPCs?

I'd love to be able to export some of the NPCs, load them up with gear and tomes and then load them into multiplayer games whenever I want. Is there anyway to do this? Maybe through shadowkeeper?

Using EE keeper, you can open a saved game and click a check box that says "exportable" on the page of any NPC that you want to make importable. Then you save the game, and when you play it, you will have the option to export the NPC when you visit their character screen.

What I'm wondering, if we were to export the BG1 NPC editing them with the Keeper, then start a BG2 multiplayer game, importing our own PC and the NPC's, will they work as they are meant to in BG2?

No, unfortunately not. They will not have their sound files.

I am not entirely certain what is supposed to happen in regards to character dialogue whilst playing multiplayer. There is either a bug or intentional behaviour where, regardless of which, party character dialogue will not initiate in multiplayer. Which is probably just as well given that the character dialogue files could be different between the two games. Everything else should work as you would expect. Experience, level, dual-class or lack of (e.g. Imoen), abilities, proficiencies, effects, etc. should all remain the same between games.

This thread here gives a breakdown of how you can import BG1 NPCs into BG2 and get them to work fairly "normally":

One trick is that you'll need to begin the game in multiplayer, save the game, and then move it to the single player save folder and restart the game in single player.

Yea I should have specified that to begin with. Import then move to single player. Normally I just right down the XP of the party members that I can get again and use keeper to set it to the correct value and do it that way. I usually reassign their points anyway.
