Gnoll Stronghold Safehouse

I've seen a few "safehouse" suggestions, so here's mine:

How about making the Gnoll Stronghold a potential safehouse in baldur's gate 1?
- The art asset is awesome (http://spidersrpgworld.com/mystuff/areas/BGI/5100-550ppi.png)
- The map is mostly unused (basically you save dynaheir and never come back)
- The Gnoll Stronghold could be shared with BG2*
- Interior art may be needed, which may be too time consuming...

*Although it seems unnecessary to include this area in BG2, there are a few good reasons (IMO) to do so:
- BG2 DLC opportunity without having to create additional art
- BG2 Safehouse (not necessary, but it may take some time before you get your class-specific safehouse in BG2)
- It's "near" Atkhatla
To illustrate this, I've created a "rough" approximation of all BG maps relative to the world of Faerun: http://postimage.org/image/jw3intyqh/full
(based on http://cdn.obsidianportal.com/map_images/306071/faerun.jpg taking the major cities of Baldur's Gate, Atkhatla and Saradush as clues)
Admittedly it's not very accurate (Watcher's Keep...) but I think it's close enough.

    I like the 'rough' map - not seen BG and TOB maps all interlinked before...

    Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but according to the reddit you are still not able to go inside the fort.

    This actually may be a good thing. It is prime gnoll real estate just waiting for you to move in!

    There is an unreleased mod on gibberlings3 that made the gnoll stronghold interior accessible. Unreleased because it still requires content to populate that interior. Though from the sound of the original post, you would be happy with it being empty?

    Heh, well that one isn't mine, though I was going to help out (eventually). You can thank the likes of @CamDawg and SimDing0... maybe this new release will provide sufficient motivation for someone to finish it...

    Yeah, the Mang0 and I had thrown around ideas for the gnoll stronghold, which eventually got enveloped into a broader mod (with a lot more folks) under the working name of The Calling. The basic idea was to give some class-specific quests--not strongholds, but something along the lines of Narlen Darkwalk's thief quests--for other classes.

    And looking through the old forums (I actually released an alpha? What? Two?!?) there really are some outstanding ideas in there. Maybe it's time to get the band back together...
