i see lots of explaning on how to install mods, but they dont say what are mods for?

    Mods are modifications to the core game that enhances the experience.

    A mod can change the graphics, to add a new NPC, add more dialog to the game, or they can improve the AIs performance to name a few.

    If this is the first time you are playing (and you are playing EE) I suggest you play mod free first to get a grasp of the game and its mechanics and then, if you desire, sprinkle in some mods that you find appealing.
