While living stoveless, I found rice and quinoa very amenable to microwaving. A quick, eady meal while dwelling in a dorm was to dice an onion (leak if I have it smells better), put 1/2 cup plain rice in a microwaveable container with the diced onion and a serving of frozen peas, add some spice (curry, any herbs) if desired, and some olive oil. After the rice is cooked, add a can of tuna to the rice, and quickly devour. Because you've got to finish up a project.
