What kind of mustard? o.O Dijon, spicy brown, just plain old yellow mustard...?

I'm a fan of dipping french fries in milkshakes. :D

I have been known to make Peanut Butter and Jelly and Turkey and Cheese sandwiches. They're not only delicious, but they also make a great mid-day pick-me-up.

I've heard peanut butter and chicken works well, though I've not yet tried it.

Not exactly a weird food, but my former boss and best friend once made me a sweet potato pie. I told him "I never had a potato pie before," and he said "isn't that just mashed potatoes?" It devolved from there, and he made me a sweet potato pie. We worked opposite shifts, though, so for a few weeks he kept bringing it to work, but I was never there.

I like fried potatoes with strong, spicey oldskool mustard. Sometimes mix in mayo, blame my Dutch heritage.

Actually, I just really like good mustard. Have no love for the neon stuff, but damn, some mustards are incredible.

Raspberry and garlic work nicely. Maple is delicious in a tofu stir fry... hmm... really weird? My favourite snack these days is cottage cheese, strong mustard, a serving of chia seed and one of hemp seed. Delicious, easy, and healthier than most proper meals.

Ginger and sugar! Sweet and hot :)

In a covered saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the ginger pieces and sugar and cover. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer for five minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to sit for 20 minutes. Heat the oven to 200 degrees F. Place the ginger slices in a glass pan. Place the pan in the oven until the slices are almost dry but still chewy. Allow it to cool. Toss the cooled ginger in sugar to lightly coat it, if desired.

Peanut butter with pretty much anything, ranch dressing with pretty much anything, honey mustard with pretty much anything, maple syrup and pretty much anything.

Scramble some eggs and put them on your favorite bread with sandwich pickles, a slice of cheese, a tomato slice, and ranch dressing or honey mustard. I call it The Mess.

Dip pizza into ranch dressing. It will change your life.

Cut up an avocado into long slices and lay them on half of a toasted English muffin. Season to taste.

Microwave a slice of cheddar or American cheese over apple pie for the most American dessert ever. TASTE THE FREEDOM!

Toss peanut butter into your fruit smoothie to add flavor, thickness, and protein.

So that would make it 3-week old sweet potato pie then? Hmmmmm ;-)

Soup with maybugs, calf meat and dumplings. Mmmh... the taste of home!

Roasted water-scavenger beetles, cassava and piri piri sauce. Great against colds too.

Pizza with potatoes, green apples, garlic and strong aromatic cheese on top~

Not so surprised since where I am living there is a restaurant even put both shrimp and mashed sweet potato into Pizza.

Beer Battered Fish and Barbecue sauce. Also Barbecue sauce on fries. Forget tartar sauce... Barbecue sauce is also good on tuna salad. Spicy and delicious- really livens up bland old white fish.

Arrakis Royal Kitchen mods should check this thread for any conspiracy.

Salami , honey , bread , butter ; on a slice of bread I applied butter , honey and the last two salami slices. I won.

Soup of your choice , noodles in a spoonable shape ; ready your supermarket soup in a pot and the noodles in the other. I poured them in the same dish , I also saved time eating. I won.

Yoghurt , water , salt , thyme , a lemon ; I make what is called airan , simply put a cold drink of watered yoghurt and salt ( which is in markets here ready ) , I add lemon juice in it and applied thyme at the top , spooned it for a good diffusion. I won.

Not exactly weird food, but braised fish is incredibly tastey. Nothing bland about talapia if you prepare it correctly! I just fry the fish in olive oil with some diced garlic, onions and or leek. After the fish is nicely browned, add some white wine to just bsrely cover the ingredients, throw in a small handful of oregano and simmer it until the wine reduces to a sauce. Easy and impressive.

Goes very well with rice. I used to hate fish ad a kid, then I learned to cook. ;)

It's crazy that when you actually think about the ingredients of some of your meals you realize that they are ACTUALLY crazy combinations that you would never think of creating.

For example, my favorite food is my grandmas dolmades (Greek stuffed grape leaves). They are grape leaves filled with meat, some rice and lots of cool spices and yummy stuff like parsley, . Then they cover it with avgolemono, which is a sauce comprised mostly of lemon, eggs and flour.

In the end they look like this image

They are delicious. But then I think about it as the sum of its parts and my mind is blown...
who would combine eggs with freaking grape leaves?
Who would ever think to put lemon on pine nuts?

When you think about it almost all foods we love were at one point a "weird but good combination"

I guess the assortment and the method of making these meals makes it work. I mean, I still don't understand why people would put anchovies on pizza. Like who would eat anchovies covered in cheese? Only Xzar would eat that! But add some tomato sauce and some dough and all of the sudden it is a popular meal.

Potato bread sandwich with medium olives (diced or whole), spinach, and red taco sauce (the hotter the better). I discovered this when I was really hungry one day and too lazy to go out shopping.

I don't know how weird this is but I like to slice apples really thin with a cheese knife and put them on sandwiches.
