What's this mean, exactly?

Can a multiclassed character reach level 10 in both classes? How does dual classing work?

    The XP in Black Pits is still split evenly between classes of a multiclass character and the max XP is equal to that of the class that requires the most (to reach the 10th level). For e.g., a fighter/thief will have 250k/250k XP (because a single class fighter gains the 10th level at 500k XP).

    For dual-classes, max combined xp is that of the second class. So a thief dualled to fighter would be able to have a total of 500k, while a fighter dualled to thief could have up to 161k.
