Slings and their bonuses

I know that Slings received a bonus to thaco and damage from dex and strength respectively in BG1, but that in BG2 they lose the damage bonus. Does IWD and thus IWD:EE give a damage bonus to slings based on strength? I was simply curious while trying to decide on what party to make.

    Slings in BGEE get STR bonuses to damage and DEX bonuses to THACO. This is how they should behave.

    In BG2EE, however, they're bugged: they get STR bonuses to damage, DEX bonuses to THACO and additional STR bonuses to THACO. This is a wrong behavior, a bug.

    I guess in IWDEE the right behavior is set so that slings get STR bonuses to damage and DEX bonuses to THACO.
