I think what that fix means is that getting INT scores lower than 1 will now result in instant death. I think this bug was an issue when using equipment to lower your stats, not when enemies attacked you.
Still, isn't death at attribute score < 0 intended behavior? (Also, I may be wrong, but in at least one BG:EE test using shapechange (through keeper) Mindflayer did not kill a Wish Dao despite sucessful attacks and reports of intelligence drain - that may have had to do with the Dao though.)
